Australia Day carnival kits: get your design brief in early, every shirt is made to order.

Design Terms

Every Carnival XI kit is designed from scratch by Samurai Signs. These terms explain who owns the design and how it can be used. Version 1.1 (1 Nov 2026).

1. Who we are

Carnival XI is run by Samurai Signs (“we”, “us”). “You” means the person who submits a design brief or views a private team page, and the team or club they act for.

2. Our designs are our copyright

All concepts, proofs, artwork, mockups and print files we create (“Designs”) are original works owned by Samurai Signs under the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth). Submitting a brief, giving feedback or paying for shirts does not transfer ownership of a Design to you. Logos, names and photos you send us remain yours. You give us permission to use them to make your Design and your shirts.

3. What you can do

Once your team has paid for its shirts, you and your players may wear and use them, and share photos of yourselves wearing them, for as long as you like.

4. What you can’t do

Our private team pages and proofs are confidential. Unless we agree in writing, you must not, and must not allow anyone else to:

  • copy, download, screenshot, save, print or share a Design or proof, except to show members of your own team on the private team page;
  • give a Design, or anything closely based on it, to another printer, supplier or designer; or
  • produce or sell shirts or other products using the Design anywhere other than through Samurai Signs.

5. Printing somewhere else (design release)

If you want to own the artwork or have it printed by someone else, you can buy a design release. Once paid, we transfer the rights in that Design to you and supply the print-ready files. Contact us for a design release quote before you print the design anywhere else.

6. Our promise to you

Your Design is one of a kind. We will never sell it, or a close copy of it, to another team or customer. We may show photos of the finished kit in our portfolio and on social media unless you ask us not to.

7. If a Design is copied

If a Design is reproduced without a design release, we may ask for the copying to stop, for unauthorised products to be withdrawn, and for the design release fee to be paid. We may also take the other steps available to a copyright owner under Australian law. This includes action against a printer or supplier who reproduces the Design.

8. Records

When you agree to these terms we record your name, email, the date and time, your IP address and browser, and the version of the terms you accepted. We use this only as a record of the agreement and in line with our privacy policy.

9. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law

These terms operate alongside the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)), which applies in every Australian state and territory. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot be excluded.

10. Which law applies

We design kits for teams right across Australia. These terms are governed by the laws of Australia, including the Australian Consumer Law and the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth), and the laws of the state or territory where you live. Any dispute can be dealt with by the courts or tribunals of that state or territory, so you never have to travel interstate to resolve a problem with us.

11. Changes

If we update these terms, the new version applies only to Designs viewed or ordered after you agree to it.
